Snowmobile Safaris in Pyhä

We offer guided snowmobile safaris for everyone interested in experiencing the Arctic winter by snowmobile. Our selection includes a variety of tours for different interests and experience levels, from easy introductory rides to longer and more adventurous safaris.

All our snowmobile safaris include warm snowmobiling gear, professional guiding and driving instructions. You will need to bring your own warm base layers. We also recommend wearing ski trousers and a warm mid-layer underneath the provided overalls for extra warmth. In very cold weather, you may also wear your ski jacket underneath the overalls.

The driver of the snowmobile must hold a valid driving licence. Please remember to bring your driving licence with you on the safari.

We begin by riding snowmobiles through the beautiful winter landscapes of Pyhä, following scenic trails through forests and open snowy terrain on our way to Kopara Reindeer Park. This journey offers a unique way to explore the Arctic wilderness.

Upon arrival, you’ll step into the world of traditional reindeer herding and learn about life in Lapland from a local reindeer herder. Enjoy a peaceful sleigh ride through the snowy forest, hear stories about reindeer culture, and spend time meeting and feeding the reindeer.

After the programme, we warm up with a traditional reindeer soup lunch before beginning our snowmobile ride back to Pyhä.

If weather conditions are favourable, there may also be a chance to see the Northern Lights.

Along the way, you will enjoy impressive views of Pyhä–Luosto National Park and its iconic fells. Our journey takes us all the way to Luosto Fell, where we stop for a well-deserved break and enjoy a traditional Lappish lunch at a local restaurant.

Your destination is Bistro Vanha Pappila, a lovingly restored old vicarage run by a welcoming local couple, located just a short distance from Pelkosenniemi Church. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious homemade lunch in a cosy and intimate setting that truly feels like visiting someone’s home – because in many ways, it is.

Guests often praise the excellent food, warm hospitality and unique atmosphere, making this experience a perfect blend of adventure, local culture and genuine Lapland charm.
